🐸 Agumbe Macro Photography Trip Itinerary

📍 Location: Agumbe Rainforest, Western Ghats, Karnataka
📅 Dates: 5th (Friday) – 7th (Sunday) September 2025
🎯 Focus: Macro Photography of Amphibians, Reptiles, Insects, Fungi, and Rainforest Microhabitats

Day 1 – 5th September, Friday: Arrival & Night Macro Walk

• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Arrival at Agumbe (via Shimoga by private vehicle)
• 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Check-in at Homestay 
• 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch & Orientation Session
• Safety briefing
• Macro techniques discussion
• Gear check and weather-proofing
• 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Short rainforest walk (scouting & light exploration)
• 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Night Macro Photography Walk
• Frogs, tree snakes, bioluminescent fungi, insects
• Guided by local naturalist

Day 2 – 6th September, Saturday: Full-Day Macro Exploration

• 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Morning forest edge walk
• Dealing with low light macro
• Early dew shots on insects/spiders
• 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Breakfast
• 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Session: Fungi & Habitat Macro Techniques
• 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch + Rest
• 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Stream & Leaf-litter macro shoot
• Target species: shield bugs, geckos, caterpillars
• 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Intensive Night Macro Trail
• Rare sightings: Malabar Gliding Frog, Cat snakes, Slender Loris (if lucky)

Day 3 – 7th September, Sunday: Final Shoot & Departure

• 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM: Sunrise walk & final macro session
• Creative compositions: backlighting, shallow depth shots
• 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Breakfast
• 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Review Session
• Image review, feedback
• Tips on post-processing for macro
• 12:00 PM: Check-out & departure
