Mangalajodi Workshop - Bird Photography Tour - 8th to 10th February, 2025
Mangalajodi Bird Sanctuary is a picturesque wetland located on the northern edge of Chilika Lake, the largest coastal lagoon in India, in the state of Odisha. Known as a paradise for bird lovers, Mangalajodi is a haven for migratory and resident birds, making it one of India's most significant birdwatching destinations
- Mangalajodi hosts more than 300 species of birds, including migratory birds that travel thousands of kilometers from Siberia, Mongolia, Europe, and other regions during the winter.
- Commonly sighted species include Purple Herons, Grey Herons, Egrets, Peregrine Falcon, Brahminy Kite, Northern Pintails, Ruddy Shelducks, Purple Moorhens, Asian Openbill Storks, Black-tailed Godwits, Gulls, Bitterns and Bar-headed Geese
Itinerary
Day 1
5 am - Wake up and get ready.
6 am to 10 am.
Boating and birding and bird photography
10.30 am - Breakfast, followed by an early lunch at 12.30 noon
1 pm to 5 pm
Boating and birding and bird photography
After fresh-up revise photos and post-processing session
Dinner : 8:30pm
Day 2
5 am - Wake up and get ready.
6 am to 10 am
Boating and birding and bird photography
10.30 am - Breakfast, followed by an early lunch at 12.30 noon
1 pm to 5 pm
Boating and birding and bird photography.
After fresh-up revise photos and post-processing session
Dinner : 8:30pm
Day 3
5 am - Wake up and get ready.
6 am to 11am
Boating and birding and bird photography, l
12 pm to 2 pm: Lunch and rest.
Packing time
2 pm - Transfer back to the Bhubaneshwar Railway Station or Khudra Junction /Airport
Field Learnings
On field learning will hand hold you at every possible step for a better understanding of perspectives, camera controls and how to make use of the best opportunities to get better images.
The training will focus on the following
- Different modes of shooting (Av / A, Tv / S, M and P)
- Exposure control in field under difficult light conditions
- Mastering metering techniques (Spot, partial, center weighted, evaluative)
- Mastering auto focus, focusing points, AF locking and focus tracking for moving subjects
- How to get sharp images of moving subjects
- Framing and composition in the field
Package Cost
Rs. 25,000 INR per head inclusive of all taxes

Cancellation policy
- All cancellations before 30 days of the event date - 100% credit
- All cancellations between 20 - 30 days of the event date - 50% credit
- All cancellations within 20 days of the event date - No credit possible
